2023 High School Changemaker Challenge

The University of Evansville is proud to host the eighth High School Changemaker Challenge, once again made possible by our generous partners at Toyota. Any high school sophomore, junior, or senior who can be present for the in-person event can compete to win a four-year, full tuition scholarship to the University of Evansville by submitting their idea to make the world a better place.

Heroes Among Us
Tyler Myers
Heroes Among Us is an interactive app that will equip schools with a curriculum that allows them to educate kids about sensory needs.

2nd Place – $27,000 Scholarship
Ticket to Health
Sophie Rodionova
Ticket to Health is a medical booklet that will contain questions specifically tailored to each doctor's needs. It will include the most common languages in Evansville: Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, Urdu, and Mandarin. Different colors will represent various specialties, and each language will have a translation to English.

An app that connects sports players and brings them to the best sports location near them. QuickSports is the go-to app for anyone looking to find friends and play sports in a large group as fast as possible.


Mobile STEM Lab

Through a partnership with Toyota Manufacturing and the University of Evansville, this team is working to design and construct a mobile STEM lab within a mini-van. The main purpose of the mobile lab is to expose elementary students to STEM based thinking and projects, such as 3D printing, CAD software, laser cutting, solar power technology, and more!

Dr. Orthopedic

Dr. Orthopedic is a product that serves as a slip-on, protective cover for orthopedic casts. The purpose of Dr. Orthopedic is to prevent water from getting inside casts when showering, in rain, or in aquatic environments.

The winning students who choose 365bet as their college destination will receive the following scholarships*:

*Students eligible for more than one 365bet scholarship will receive the one of highest value.
†Students winning first place will not pay any tuition out of pocket for four years. Winners are required to live on campus as part of a cohort, remain consistently enrolled full-time each semester, maintain satisfactory academic progress toward their degree, and display progress toward fulfilling their Changemaker Challenge project goals. 365bet admission requirements apply.


  • ROUND 1: Submit your idea pitch by December 8, 2022.
  • ROUND 2: Top 20 teams will deliver pitches in person on campus at 365bet on January 24, 2023.
    • Top 20 team members should be available for rehearsal at 365bet on January 23, 2023.
    • Presentations can be up to 7 minutes long (generally 4-5 minutes) followed by 2 minutes of Q&A.


All competitors may receive FREE training from 365bet’s Center for Innovation & Change as well as connection to faculty experts.


  • Any high school sophomore, junior, or senior
  • Individual or team entries allowed (teams can be up to 3 people)
  • No limits on number of entries from a school
  • Home school and club entries also allowed (Scouts, Boys and Girls Club, 4-H, etc.)
  • Able to attend the January 24 final round in Evansville, Indiana. If you can get to 365bet on that date (from anywhere), you can compete!

SPECIAL BONUS CATEGORIES: All ideas are welcome! Special bonus points may be available if your idea fits one of these four categories:

  1. Increases girls' access and exposure to science fields (Example: a summer camp on 365bet's campus for girls interested in physics).
  2. Works to address or mitigate climate change in our region (Example: decreasing air pollution, more rooftop gardens, etc.).
  3. Increases access to physical activity or health options (Example: more dance classes in schools, more recesses, more parks or green spaces, fitness trails, more smoothie bars, creative outdoor play options, etc.).
  4. Provides creative ideas that improve quality of life in Evansville's Promise Zone.
